Building-instruction and lesson-assistant app for Young Engineers licensees and instructors
Last updated: 18 June 2026 · Effective date: 18 June 2026
1. About BuildWise and this policy
BuildWise is an application operated by E Square Young Engineers Franchising Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), 34034 West 8 Mile Road, Suite 102, Farmington Hills, MI 48335, USA, Identification Number 800757868. It lets a Young Engineers licensee and their instructors view building-instruction content for lessons and ask an AI assistant questions about the current lesson. This policy explains what information the app handles.
The BuildWise software and brand are owned by YE Wise Learning Solutions (Reg. HE 476229, Danaon 4, Aradippou, Cyprus, 7100) and are used by the operator under licence.
Who uses BuildWise. BuildWise is for adults — the licensee (business owner) and their instructors. Children (students) and parents do not log into BuildWise. Students may view building instructions on screen during class, but they do so through the instructor’s account and supervision.

2. What information BuildWise handles
BuildWise does not store student records — no rosters, names, dates of birth, or attendance. The personal data it handles relates to the adult user and the AI assistant:
| Information | Why | Where it goes |
| The logged-in user’s own profile (name, username, email, phone, profile photo of the instructor or licensee, role, device and timezone) | To sign the user in and operate the app | Stored on the device and on our backend |
| AI chat questions (text) and lesson identifiers | To answer questions about the current lesson | Sent to our AI assistant service; chat history stored on that service per user |
| Voice-to-text transcript: when the user dictates a question, the device’s own speech-to-text (based on the device settings) converts it to text. BuildWise does not upload voice recordings or images to the chat — only the resulting text is sent. | To let the user dictate a question by voice instead of typing | Converted to text on the device; only the text is sent to our AI assistant service |
| Building-instruction content | To show the lessons | Downloaded from our backend |
| Diagnostic information | To find and fix problems | Sent to our crash-reporting provider (Sentry) |
3. The AI lesson assistant
BuildWise includes an AI assistant that answers questions about the lesson the class is working on. When a user asks a question, the app sends the question text, the logged-in user’s identifier, and identifiers for the current program and lesson (curriculum references only) to our AI assistant service at aicommand.youngengineers.org, which uses an AI model to answer. The assistant does not receive student names or other student personal data. Chat history is stored on that service against the user’s account, and can be deleted.
Voice dictation in the chat
The chat does not allow uploading voice recordings or images. A user may dictate a question instead of typing it: the device’s own speech-to-text feature (based on the device settings) converts the speech to text on the device, and only the resulting text is sent to the AI assistant service. No audio file or image is uploaded.
Instructor responsibility. Users should not include any child’s name, image, voice, or personal details in the AI chat. The chat is for questions about the lesson content.
4. Signing in
Users sign in with an email and password, or with Microsoft, Apple, or a guest path. We store the user’s own profile and an authentication token. We do not collect a date of birth or location.
5. Service providers
We rely on providers that process information on our behalf: our hosting backend (AWS); our AI assistant service (which uses Anthropic’s Claude); Firebase (sign-in and chat data); Microsoft, Apple, and Google (optional sign-in); and Sentry (crash reporting). The same sub-processor relationship and Data Processing Agreement that govern ClassWise apply to BuildWise.
6. Where data is processed
Data is processed on our AWS backend, our AI assistant service, and the providers above. Because we operate internationally, data may be processed in other countries; where required we put appropriate safeguards in place.
7. Security
We take measures to protect information, including access controls, encrypted connections, and secure storage of authentication credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information BuildWise handles.
8. Rights and contact
Users can request access to or deletion of their account information by contacting privacy@youngengineers.org. Requests relating to any student information are handled through the licensee under the ClassWise arrangements.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Questions: privacy@youngengineers.org.
